Ros Jennings |
Title: Popular Music, Inheritances and Ageing
Ros Jennings is Professor of Ageing, Culture and Media and Director of the Centre for Women, Ageing and Media (WAM) at the University of Gloucestershire. She is Deputy Executive Director of the European Network in Aging Studies (ENAS) and a research partner in the Ageing, Communication, Technology (ACT) Project. She is editor (with Abigail Gardner) of the (2012) collection: Rock On: Women, Ageing and Popular Music and has written on ‘Ageing and Popular Music’ for the Routledge Handbook of Cultural Gerontology (2015). She has recently published work (2015) on older women and the television series Call the Midwife (with Eva Krainitzki) and Desperate Housewives (with Maricel Oro Piqueras) and is co-author with Abigail Gardner of the forthcoming (2017) Routledge book: Aging and Popular Music in Europe.

Murray Forman |
Murray Forman’s research focuses on hip-hop culture and aging. His books include The ‘Hood Comes First: Race, Space and Place in Rap and Hip-Hop (2002), and (with co-editor Mark Anthony Neal) That’s the Joint!: The Hip-Hop Studies Reader (1st edition 2004; 2nd edition, 2012). He was an inaugural recipient of the Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship at the Hip-Hop Archive, Harvard University (2014-2015).

Sara Cohen |
Sara Cohen is a Professor of Music at the University of Liverpool and director of the University's Institute of Popular Music. She has a DPhil in Social Anthropology from Oxford University and her books include Rock Culture in Liverpool (Oxford University Press) and Decline, Renewal and the City in Popular Music Culture (Ashgate). She is currently engaged in research on music and cultural memory.
